No. No. And one more time: no.
When it comes to skincare — even products made from natural ingredients — the key question is what the product contains and how its safety has been verified. Natural doesn’t automatically mean safe. Some natural ingredients can still be irritating, sensitizing, or even harmful.
Here’s a checklist for pregnant and nursing skincare:
❤️ The product has been clinically or dermatologically tested for sensitive skin. ♥️ The product has been clinically or dermatologically verified as suitable for your skin type, and sensitive skin when necessary. ❤️ The product contains zero added fragrance, they are mix of several most likely unknown substances. ❤️ The product contains zero essential oils they are widely unknown from the perspective of unbiased research and topical use, and are often sensitizing ❤️ Natural fats and oils (butters, waxes, oils) are fresh and unspoiled — avoid products past their best-before date, with changed color, rancid smell, or hardened texture

Why essential oils are risky
There is still very little unbiased research on the effects of essential oils applied to skin during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Globally, fewer than 10 independent studies exist. Yet we know these oils can act as sensitizers and potential endocrine disruptors. Current evidence clearly supports the advice: avoid essential oils when your product might affect a developing life.
Beware of rancid natural oils
Natural oils that have oxidized — for example, oils that smell off or hardened butters — can change chemically and may become harmful to the skin, potentially even carcinogenic. AIVA products are free from essential oils and carefully formulated to prevent rancidity.
The bigger picture: safety is about the ingredients, not their origin
A challenge across the cosmetics industry — natural or synthetic — is the lack of research on the combined effects of different chemicals. Your body cannot tell whether a potentially harmful or untested ingredient is “natural” or synthetic.
Choose products with:
Well-established, widely researched ingredients
Clinically tested hydrating and nourishing formulations - efficaty and safety is tested not only on individual ingredients but on the whole product.
At AIVA, we believe in real. ❤️♥️
